Privacy & Cookies Policy

At HKD Psychology, keeping your personal details safe is very important to me. This page explains how I, Hardeep, take care of your data so you get the best support and feel completely secure while we work together on your well-being.

Who looks after your details?

As the person behind HKD Psychology, I am the one responsible for protecting your privacy. I make sure everything you share stays private and follows the UK’s rules for keeping your personal information safe.

The details I collect

When you use my site, I collect basic things like your email so I can reply to you. During therapy, I also keep notes on your health and history. This helps me tailor our CBT or EMDR sessions to your specific needs and ensures you get the right support.

How I use your details

I keep your data so I can provide the best care possible and maintain professional records. Your health information is treated with extra care. I will never send you marketing messages unless you have explicitly told me that you would like to receive them.

How I store and share your data

Your information is kept safe using encrypted software. I only share it if I absolutely have to: for my professional supervision, to keep you safe with your GP if there is a risk, or for technical site help. I usually keep therapy records for 7 years after we finish working together.

Your rights

You can ask to see your data, fix any mistakes, or ask me to delete it if the law allows. If you have questions about your privacy, just ask me. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office if you feel your concerns haven't been settled.

Help in a crisis

This website offers information but isn't a crisis service. If you are in danger or need urgent mental health help right now, please call 111, contact your local NHS crisis team, or go to the nearest hospital A&E department.

Cookies and your privacy

This part explains how I use small digital tools to make your visit better. I want to be open about how this site stays safe and easy to use. Since I use Wix, they provide the secure servers and tools. You can check the Wix website if you want to see their full technical privacy details.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files saved on your device that help the website recognize you. Think of them as a digital memory that remembers your settings so the site works faster and smoother when you come back. They are very common and help keep the website functioning safely and correctly.

Types of cookies
Essential cookies

These are necessary for the website to actually work. They let you move around the site and use features like the booking system safely. Without these, the site wouldn't be able to do its job. Because I use Wix, these tools make sure your connection stays stable and your data stays protected.

Improvement cookies

I use these to see how people use the site and which pages are most helpful for those looking for therapy. This information is anonymous and grouped together. It helps me make the site better for everyone rather than looking at who you are individually.

Marketing info

I don't use any cookies for targeted ads right now. If I ever add social media links to reach more people who need help, those platforms might use cookies to show you relevant content. However, I will always prioritize your privacy over advertising.

Your cookie choices

When you first arrive, a banner lets you choose your settings. You can change your mind at any time in your browser settings or by clearing your history. Just keep in mind that turning off some cookies might change how the website looks or how well some parts of it work for you.
